11 Weeks and Back to Work

Well, week 11 went fast and wore me out!  Back to school after a nice long 2 week Christmas vacation, especially with my minimal energy levels, was taxing.  Prior to break I had a student teacher that was doing most of the teaching, so I had to jump back into it pretty quick.  I have been feeling pretty good but continue to get really sleep around 6:30 and start to feel yucky around 7.  So I usually just try and cave and get to bed as early as possible.  (Mostly trying to avoid the sickness.)

My belly continues to grow and despite the slew of maternity pants I now have in my closet, I'm trying to wear all of my "normal" clothes.  Usually by lunch time, the button needs to be undone and the hair tie put in place!  Lucky for me, my students don't notice the growing belly!  However, people at working are starting to look at my funny!  I will have to spill the beans soon, would just like to wait until after our doctor's appointment this Friday!

Along with the growing belly and new wardrobe, we have come to realize that getting a car seat in and out of my Xterra is going to be a less than desirable everyday event.  (Thanks to our wonderful neighbors, we had an infant car seat to try!)  So this weekend we were looking at new vehicles that are going to be a little more Mom friendly.  (My Xterra has stadium rear seating, meaning that they are very high, and a narrow door way due to the rear wheel well.) We checked out 3 SUV's this weekend (must be an SUV because I like to sit up higher.)
1. The Nissan Pathfinder:  Love the look on the outside and just the right height to put a car seat in.  It drives just like my Xterra, so it would be very easy to adjust to.  It has a third row option so there is plenty of room to grow.  All in all, great car, but pricey!
2. The Honda Pilot: Wonderful interior features, and top of the line in safety. Very easy to get a car seat in, while still allowing plenty of leg space for a passenger up front.  Optional third row.  Drives AMAZING!!!!!  Such a smooth ride and so easy to handle!  Only downfall is I'm not all that attracted to the outside.  However the one that I drove was not a very nice color.  We are hoping to find a black one to check out to see if that changes the appeal of the exterior.
3. The Toyota 4 Runner: LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this SUV!!!  Amazing exterior and interior and drives wonderful too.  However, the rear seats are just as high as that in the Xterra which totally disregards the whole point of getting a new car!  (Major bummer on this one, because we probably would have drove away with one!)

For now we are leaning more towards the Pilot, but we will see.
